A Must Have for Life

Recently I was in my school's Spring Dance Concert, where all the dance classes perform a dance and people go "ooh you guys are so talented!" So, my class had to wear black gouchos, tank tops, and white shirts.
Black gouchos.
Yeah, but what hurts even more is when I suggested we just wear black capris some moron said, "I don't know where to buy black capris!" I was so in shock that I couldn't say anything. Unfortunately we ended up dancing around to Linkin Park wearing black gouchos. I feel so sorry for every one that watched.
Anyways, here are some black capris/cropped pants/knickers/whatever.

They're basic! They could have been worn by the Pink Ladies and then again by some modern day starlet (baaah). You would think something so basic wouldn't cost $225 though. I love Theory anyways though.

I was at South Moon Under with my mom looking for gouchos when I saw these and tried to force her to buy them for me. Which she did not but whatever, they're still damn fly (and $129). They're cool because you can cinch them up and all the buttons lead to hours of entertainment in government class.

Ever since I bought a pair of Miss Sixty skinny jeans with zippers on the sides I've been in love with their pants. These are really similiar to the Theory capris, but only $89 and with a sweet button.

I have to say, I tend to like Marc by Marc Jacobs more than the regular Marc Jacobs line. So, it's only natural that I like the Marc black cropped pants. With zippers all over too! I don't know why I love these zippers maybe it's because there's something incredibly rock and roll and nonesensical about them. I think that's it. Wear these with a leather jacket a white wife-beater and I'll be your best friend. $178.

I read the DaVinci code and imagined all the characters in it wearing clothes from A.P.C. Even the crazy guy with leg braces. Anyways, A.P.C.'s black bermuda shorts are amazing. They make me want to run around Europe looking for the holy grail. $151.

Perfect timing. I'm reading Da Vinci Code for the second time right now. And you are REALLY right about APC.
I'm soo sorry that you had to wear black gauchos. Very harsh.
Lovely blog- keep it up.

What's so bad about gauchos? I love them, I think they're so comfortable and look really good!

gauchos? ew.
I know what you mean girls in my dance class have taken to wearing them for shits and giggles OVER THEIR TIGHTS! Someone needs to slap some sense into their heads.

liliana- the answer to your question is everyone looks like crap in gauchos unless you're a model....and most people are not a 6-foot tall model, so yea basically everyone should be banned from buying them...even if your thighs are not fat they will look it with those....not to mention the fact they're so stretchy just makes them look sloppy...unless you'd like to go out looking like a slob in public, refrain from wearing yours in front of other people...you could wear them @ home- as people often do w/ sweats- just not out in the real world...i could go on...they're just loathable altogether, and im sure they're the official dresscode in hell...yea they're that bad!

now see, I own a pair of brown gaucos.
I don't like them so much now, but I have come up with many cute outfits with those suckers. All though I am not 6 feet (5'9) I still look good in them. :] although they do make my thighs look a bit on the chunky side. And I am not, in fact, chunky.

Thank you, dearest Leith for FINALLY updating.

PS- I love that you're in my math class. It's like knowing an internet celebrity :D

I don't want to be cliche and go "I'm reading the DaVinci Code too!111oneoen" but yes, I am. Personally, I see them in.. well I don't. But I do imagine Sophie Neveu in a nice black suit like Eva Longoria's in that Sentinal movie.

Running around in Europe looking for the Holy Grail sounds fun, but who will give us fashion advice?

The bad thing with gauchos is that they are so out that you look like you are years late when you wear them

to tart: gauchos over tights would be hideous hahaha,

but about everything else, i disagree that gauchos are ugly... you don't have to be super skinny/tall, ive seen girls with average bodies wear them and look just fine! and they can so definitely be dressed up that i don't see how people can call them sloppy.

they're sloppy if you wear them sloppy, but the same goes with everything... jeans for example.

That sucks that you had to wear them, but hey, at least it was only for 2 minutes.

Tart, one girl in my dance class wears hers over tights every week, a few of us are trying to come up with a plan to steal them and get rid of them, lol.

And they look bad on most people. I know they look like crap on me because they make my legs look really stumpy.

poor girl

85% of people wearing gauchos are basically screaming "LOOK AT MY IMPERFECTIONS!!!" You have to be very proportional and very...smooth to look good.

Oh, and all the girls wearing gauchos with granny panties really need to be told it is just NO GOOD.

ew gauchos are almost as bad as the new fashion statement circling the halls at my school: spandez capris that are seethrough. blech. ps love your blog, and how honest you are about everything lol!

oooh goodnes, i feel very sorry for you and every member of your dance class. i'll bet girls showed up in those disgusting ones with the tie on them too. barf-a-rooni. i'm in a dance class at my highschool, too, but we order costumes to coordinate with our songs and such. of course, when you do that you have to pay a deposit. it's not much though. an advanced dancer pays $195. Beginers start out their first semester with a $40 deposit. resonable, no?

whoever invented black gauchos should be run over by a trailer while drinking budlight. Theyre so trailer trash.

I'm on the lookout for a black leather jacket. Can I be your best friend? Hah, just kidding. I think I'm allergic to Gauchos or have Tourrets - I sneeze and shout profanities every time I see someone wearing them.

So, I know the whole gaucho topic is sorta over and done with but I just have to say this. I disagree. I have a great pair of brown gauchos and I have gotten lots of comments saying that they make me look skinnier instead of chunkier. I'm not model height or weight, I'm average height with fairly large thighs, actually. Maybe it's just depends on if the wearer knows how to wear them. I totally agree with you Liliana!

LEITHYPOOOO PLEASE UPDATEEE

Gauchos are ugly. they are so american!(I am Italian). If one wants real Euro fashion, they must get rid of gauchos. Black capris are very classy, you do not have your pant legs swinging about!

A ton of my friends wear gouchos...what's wrong with them? I used to like your blog, but now it's annoying because all you do is either hate or love something. So annoying. You know what, if you really find the need to whine about someone's pants, have fun with that. I'm sure you'll go really far. Hint: Journalists don't go around complaining about things. I'm not going to waste my time on your blog anymore.
