Vera Bradley Should go the Way of my Dead Dog

Seriously. I'm sick of seeing them. This is worse than having a Louis Vuitton bag.

i dont really like that one, but i think there are a lot of really cute veras...

however, you're right about them being everywhere, which is annoying, but i can't help but love them

We would need some sort of heinous-bag-exorcist to rid my school of Vera Bradley. It's unfortunate though, because the prints are from the Provencal, southern France style, but when taken way out of context and exploited like they are, they kind of make me nauseous.

hey, i really LOVE your blog, but this post I am NOT feeling.
I like Vera Bradley for tote bags and/or duffel bags not as handbags. Wouldn't you rather have a bright paisley totebag than a blandy old navy blue thing to carry your gym stuff?

The thought of vera bradley makes me want to toss my cookies. By tomorrow they will be selling knock offs in the center court of the mall with the "Louis Vuitton" bags and all the other "designer" handbags. They look like something my grandma would use to make dollies or something of that matter. Vera Bradley has ruined paisley for all of mankind.

I don't mind these bags at all for my mother and my grandmother, who each have a large collection of them, but when I see people that have them because they think they're "in" it makes me gag.

seriously here. 2 words. Personal tastes. Different people like different things. Apparently, 99% of people here hate Vera Bradley. But what about the people who like the bags? What if they have them because they *gasp* like them and not just because everyone else has one. Personally, I don't have one, and I see no huge loss in not having one. But if people like them, let them like them. I mean, people rag on me for liking Britney Spears...oooo...I've liked her since I was like, 7.So really, all depends on your personal taste in things. I think your blog has become a place for you to bitch about fashion. Personal thought about it. Don't care if anyoen disagrees, don't care if anyone gets pissed off. Because I know people feel the same.

dearest Leith,
I do love this blog.
Without it, I might die.
I do hate those bags as well.
And LV ones too. Except, if you remember,
Brianna (in our math class) had that blue one
at the beginning of the year? it was slighlty large,
and had white LVs all over it.
I think that's the only one I could put up with.
I don't like the labels.

ANYWAYS. I missed this site horribly.

Nicole's argument is slightly fallacious. Actually very. Liking Britney Spears for too long of a time is no argument against what Leith has the right to put on her blog. By the way, I think Vera Bradley bags are in very bad taste. I know this may sound slightly hypocritical, but lets not try to bitch on Leith's blog. She has the right to put whatever she wants on it, and if you just can't stand it, keep it to yourself.

basically I would LOVE it if you gave your complete oppinion of leggings....
should they be dead by now?
and how else to wear them (without looking...silly) besides a mini jean skirt? because I personally am sick of it.
please? :D

Okay, I'll admit it. I did the legging thing before it really hit off. But now that everyone wears them it really kind of annoys me and I do not think they should be worn outside of dance class."

speaking from another fashion fans point of view, maybe it's just me, but maybe you're cutting leggings just a little too close. i'v been seeing leggings with EVERYTHING, just as pants, as capris, under long t-shirts with wide belts, still under skirts and skirts, under shorts, just about it all. and you're completely right when you say it's pretty much overused and abused nor is it exactly new and fresh anymore but the more i see people wearing them in different ways it makes me love them all over again.

So funny...I live in San Francisco and traveled home to Jax, Florida twice in the past four months with lay-overs in Dallas both times. The first trip was in December, and when I touched down in Dallas, I thought "Hmmmmm...why are some of these young girls wearing granny knitting bags...as shoulder bags?" They were/are definitely NOT the norm in SF, and I promptly forgot about them once I got home. During my second trip (two weeks ago), the bags...and their rip-offs...were EVERYWHERE...Dallas, Jax, the flight home to SF...EVERYwhere...including the airport gift shops. It was a paisley explosion!

I hope these disappear quickly...just Fugly. Thankfully, I don't see them that often in the city, but I can commiserate with those of you that are bombarded on a daily basis. Just try not to look directly at the bags (I have a theory that there may be some sort of evil-paisley hypnosis going on). This to shall pass, like the crocs before them. ;)

i happen to come upon this page and own way more than the average person when it comes to purses and vera bradley. i believe in a few years there will be uglier colors to change people's minds about buying them. this specific color looks very old granny-ish, and i dont like it. but some other newer colors are very cute.

AND THE COMPANY "VERA BRADLEY" LIES TO THE PUBLIC---LABELS SAY" MADE IN CHINA" NOT THE MADE IN FT WAYNE INDIANA THAT THEY USED TO BE MADE AND HOPE YOU STILL THINK THEY ARE MADE THERE-- THEY ARE DESIGNED BY TWO 70 YEAR OLD WOMEN WHOSE PICTURES ARE AIR BRUSHED IN THE WEB SITE.. OH THEY KNOW TREND AND STYLE!!!????? MAYBE A KNITTING BAG WOULD BE A GOOD ONE TO COME OUT WITH AS THE FAD WITH THE YOUNGER GENERATION WILL SOON BE OVER AND GRANDMA CAN GO BACK TO WEARING THEIR POT HOLDERS.

I never understand why Vera Bradley bags are so popular, with all those untasteful patterns and over-bright colors, I would lose my own identity if I carried one of those, especially they are everywhere. I have been carrying my artists designed funtote everyday for the last six months, and Cosmopolitan magazine just had them on April issue. Cheers!

if you don't like vera bradley and you are looking for a travel bag line with a similar concept, cinda b bags are much more fashionable! i've used these for years and LOVE them! they are super durable and machine washable!

You can have your own opinion... Some people like them, some don't; you don't have to go crazy about it. I like them, but some of the patterns are a little ew. I own two Vera Bradley bags(both made in USA not China; have no clue where people got that from.) and I adore them! They are sturdy and they have some cute patterns. Yes, they are everywhere and half of the people carry them only because everyone else is. But there are people who actually buy the bags becasue they LIKE THEM. I don't see what's wrong with them, then again it's my opinion.

I can not stand these bags. It's not so much because they are ugly, like others have said, but there is another reason. I'm 39 years old and these bags represent the high school days when everyone had to be trendy. How I hated that! So here I am, 39 years old, and all of the sudden house wives at my church in their 40's and 50's are going gaga over VB bags. It makes me cringe because of the way the act. It's become trendy and a status thing among young girls and women. I just refuse to be a part of that nonsense.

omg - I totally agree! VB bags are just awful. All the middle & high school girls at my church started carrying them. And now their mom's & little sisters are carrying them too. Quilted, flowery bags are taking over the world. And they are way overpriced. There is NO WAY I would fork over that kinda money for a quilted cotton handbag. Not to mention that you are limited in what you wear b/c the colors & designs of VB do not lend themselves to go with very many outfit. They are so casual, you can't even take your VB handbag from day to evening. I mean, imagine that blue/lime floral quilted number with your little black dress & heels?? I personally would rather invest in a high quality handbag like coach, d&b or LV.

I have always wondered what is UP with these butt-ugly bags. I can't believe high school students like them! I'm in my mid-40s and they look fugly and old-ladyish even to my old lady eyes. Bleah!!! They look like diaper bags or knitting bags or just some kind of crappy thing -- not like a high-end handbag. I totally do not get their appeal, not at all. When I was in high school, the Aigner "bar bag" was the rage, and I never thought that thing was particularly pretty -- but IMHO Aigner's got the Veras beat by a mile!

I worked at that god awful company for a short time. The design leaders and owner (there are 3 of them) call themselves the Holy Trinity because they think they are better than God. The owners are grandmothers hence the granny bag quilted look. They think they are better than everyone even though they live in the back woods of Fort Wayne Indiana. People wearing Vera Bradley, it screams "I know nothing about fashion." these bags have no connection to the true fashion industry. Who shops for fashion at a Hallmark store or drug store anyways???
